STORYTELLING, SKILL-BUILDING AND LEARNING TOGETHER

A workshop series hosted by the circle

The Circle is pleased to present a 4-part online workshop series for our Indigenous member organizations in the month of April. Each workshop is hosted by one of our members or friends.  The Circle’s Indigenous members are invited to register and attend one, two, three or all four! Registration is required. Please share within your organization.
Fundraising 101: All things fundraising with Rowena Veylan (Dunne-za), New School of Fundraising
APRIL 5 2023 @ 10:00 AM PT (90min)
An executive summary of sorts, this 90 minute session will provide an overview of all things fundraising! Come away with new knowledge as well as a new appreciation of this often mis-understood task.

Philanthropy 101: Your introduction to philanthropy with Germaine Catchpole (Anishnaabe)
APRIL 12 2023 @ 10:00 AM PT (90min)
One part storytelling, one part toolkit building, this 90 minute session is your philanthropy 101 covering everything from prospecting to pitches and how to build sustainable revenue.

Good Stories: We are storytellers with Daisee Francour (Oneida), Indigenous Environmental Network
APRIL 19 2023 @ 10:00 AM PT (90min)
Indigenous Peoples are storytellers, and what is fundraising without a good story? This 90 minute session will encourage you to explore your origin story and apply Indigenous values to your organization's narrative-based work, including tips on growing a campaign, grantwriting, as well as seeding partnerships with funders and other audiences through communications.

Good Governance: Am I a project or charity (or something else entirely)? with Rachelle Dallaire (Montagnais people in lower Quebec), Indigenous Perspectives Society
APRIL 26 2023 @ 10:00 AM PT (90min)
How can Indigenous initiatives stay true to our mandates and values while raising the funds needed to do the work? This 90 minute session will review grassroots groups vs. non-profit and charitable organizations, and will also explain how a social enterprise can become an avenue to fundraising.
