The primary focus of the AMR is to amplify the ways in which Indigenous-led and informed organizations, projects and movements are paving the way forward on key issues for social change and transformation.

This gathering is not your typical virtual conference, half-day session or workshop to put on in the background while you shoot off emails and work on reports - it's also not a recorded seminar to sign up for and not watch. What we offer is an experience that promises to leave you feeling fully engaged, deeply connected and excited to apply what you've learned in your personal, familial, communal and professional Spheres of Influence. Join us, contribute, roll up your sleeves and provide your wisdom to our shared learning for sector transformation.

The total experience begins on June 14th with Indigenous-peoples-only day. This day will be a place for Indigenous people to gather together - to share stories of their experiences with settler philanthropy in this country, to laugh, to strategize and to learn about how to be in a different quality of partnership with funders. This day will introduce participants to a range of Indigenous-led funds and the great policies, practices and strategies they have for building, redistributing and re-imagining wealth and generosity. There will be opportunities for folks to learn more about how to be involved as a board member, grant advisor or staff for philanthropic organizations. In addition, we will share stories to understand how to influence change from within. There will be workshops designed to help projects and organizations develop the technical skillsets for creative pitching from a position of power. AND, of course, there will be laughter, music and a chance to unwind, share stories and find your cousins!
